Ahead of the second live show this weekend, Strictly Come Dancing hopeful Audley Harrison has said he wants to ‘really let go’ with the Salsa.

The Olympic champion will be performing the Latin routine on Saturday evening and he thinks this is the perfect chance to show the viewers and the judges what he can do.

Harrison said: “I get a chance to show my personality with the salsa.”

“With the waltz, I couldn’t really let go and I was focused on learning the dance. I think this week I have to go for it and let go.”

“With the salsa, I have to let my inner animal come out and rock that dancefloor. I have to remember the dance, but I want to rock it.”

Harrison did show some dancefloor potential last weekend – certainly more than many expected – but his skills will be tested even more this weekend with the more challenging routine.

He is certainly one of the favourites to be eliminated with odds of 9/4 to get the chop this weekend. If they betting is to be believed, he is set to go head to head with Nancy DellOlio in the first dance-off of the series.

As for the former wife of Sven Goran-Eriksson, she has been at the centre of rumours regarding a fall out with fellow contestant Edwina Currie since the opening weekend.

Continuing the controversy, it has been reported that Holly Valance was furious that she had to perform on Friday evening to allow Alex Jones to present The One Show.

A show insider said: “Holly was pretty annoyed as the rehearsal time is planned well in advance. To be told to go a day early at the last minute isn’t ideal.”

“It did smack slightly of the BBC looking after one of their own.”

Overall, there has been plenty to talk about in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing and it should be another cracker of another weekend.
