Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Anton du Beke has revealed his delight at working with Nancy Dell’Olio in the latest series of the show.

It was revealed last weekend that the pair would dance together and du Beke – who had the delight of working with Anne Widdecombe last year – is very pleased to be working with such a ‘fabulous’ celebrity.

He said: “She looks fabulous, so that box she’s ticked. How she moves, we’ll have to wait and see!.”

Du Beke then referenced his dance partner from last year, saying: “Last year was a bit unique. I can’t tell you how I lie awake at night thinking about things to do to try to top last year.”

He will get the chance to impress the judges with his new partner on the 30th September when the live shows begin. As things stand, he and Sven Goran-Eriksson’s ex-wife are 80/1 to win the show, so they certainly have a lot to do to turn their chances around!

Elsewhere in Strictly Come Dancing news, footballer Robbie Savage – who will be dancing with Ola in the 2011 show – has said that his attitude as a sportsman will give him a competitive edge.

He said: “Success for me would be winning it. Now I’m in, I’m going to train. I wasn’t the best footballer in the world but what I did was put in 100 per cent. I’m going to train ten hours a day.”

Whether this will be enough for Savage to beat early favourites Harry Judd, Holly Valance and Jason Donovan remains to be seen, but there is no doubt some momentum is building in the ex-footballer’s favour.

He has a massive following on Twitter and plenty of celebrity friends, including Radio 1’s Chris Moyles who has already said he will back Savage all the way.

As things stand, Savage and Ola are best priced at 14/1 to win the show.
