After being given the boot from the X Factor at the weekend, Sophie Habibis was in a determined mood.

The 19-year-old – who went head to head with Misha B in the sing-off before all judges choose to send her home – also defended her passion for the competition.

When Kelly Rowland made her decision via phone from America, she said that Misha ‘wanted it more’ than Sophie.

Referring to being sent home, Sophie said: “At the end of the day she’s a judge and she has to do what she’s got to do. She made her choice and that’s that. I’ve got to deal with it.”

“It’s not true (her not wanting it). Of course I do really want to be a singer and want to keep going at what I love, but I value her opinion.”

“I don’t think Misha (Bryan) deserved to be in the bottom two at all.”

“At the end of the day you really have to expect the unexpected. I gave it my best. I love the song that I sang. I wouldn’t take it back.”

“With Kelly, my biggest concern was her health and things like this you have to deal with.”

Sophie then denied claims that Kelly gave more attention to her other two acts – Misha and Janet Devlin – saying: “It’s not true. Kelly divided her time with each of us really, really well. She had a lot of passion for me and she really helped me out. I don’t think it was anything like that at all.”

As for Kelly, she is expected to return to the show this weekend. She was pictured yesterday looking reasonably well as she aims to be nursed back to fitness in time to fly back to London for Saturday’s live show.

This would be in her best interests of course, with Simon Cowell demanding that she returns within the next 48-hours.

An insider said: “Kelly has been told it’s time to make her mind up. Everyone is supportive of the fact she is ill but other bosses are annoyed at the situation.”

“She doesn’t want to quit. She is adamant that she isn’t worried about the row she had with Tulisa and wants to return but she has to give the producers her word – and fast.”

Misha and Janet will certainly hope she can return as soon as possible.
