N-Dubz singer Dappy has spoken about about being refused permission to appear on the X Factor this year.

The 24-year-old was all set to appear as a guest mentor at the judges houses stage alongside Tulisa Contostavlos, but the shows creator Simon Cowell decided against having the controversial rapper on the show.

Speaking about the snub, Dappy said: “We wanted to go on the X Factor to be with Tulisa on judges’ houses but the people who own it thought we were too much of a gamble, that we wasn’t right.”

“Gary Barlow chose Robbie Williams and he got Robbie Williams. Tulisa wanted me and Fazer but didn’t get me and Fazer. It’s a joke.”

“Instead Tulisa’s been given Jessie J. That’s cool too. Jessie is amazing, she’s great, and we love that. But still the whole thing is wrong. I’m devastated they don’t think we’re capable of going on there and helping her.”

He then had a warning for the X Factor creator, saying: “Simon, I’m coming for you, bro. I don’t care, I don’t give two s**** – you’ve made a big mistake, man. Watch your back, Simon! I’m gonna get hits and No1 singles and show you.”

This certainly looks very likely as Dappy’s debut solo single ‘No Regrets’ looks set to go to No.1 this weekend after enjoying heavy radio play and receiving criticial acclaim.

As for Tulisa, Dappy thinks she is doing superbly well on the X Factor, even if he wasn’t able to have an impact at the judges houses stage.

He said: “Tulisa’s amazing on the show, absolutely amazing. She’s really good at what she does – she’s an amazing singer and a great musician so what she says makes sense.”

Tulisa has certainly gone down well on this year’s show, even when she burst into tears during the final auditions on Sunday evening.

Betting wise, she is the third favourite judge to win the show at 4/1, while she is 2/1 to lose all of her acts first.

The bootcamp stage of the show is on our television screens this weekend.
