Axed X Factor contestant Janet Devlin has revealed that she knew her time on the show was coming to an end.

The 17-year-old was booted off the show last night after the judges decided to send her home when she was in the bottom two with Misha B.

Janet perhaps paid the price for forgetting her words the night before, while Kelly Rowland – mentor for the two acts in the bottom two – refused to vote between the two.

Louis and Tulisa had already sent Janet home though, so by not voting, Kelly confirmed the fact that the Irish singer was to leave the competition.

Speaking afterwards, Janet said: “I feel ok. I have got this far and to go out now – I think’s all right you know.”

Referring to her mentor Kelly, she added: “Don’t worry about it. We all knew my time was up so it’s alright.”

Elsewhere, Little Mix – who are now comfortable favourites to win the show – have recieved praise from former Spice Girl Mel C.

Sporty Spice was backstage at the weekend and told the girls that they reminded her of when the Spice Girls were first together.

Reacting to this, Little Mix member Leigh-Anne Pinnock said: “She told us the golden rule was to always remember each of us has a role in the group.”

“If one person stands out as the leader or the star, then that doesn’t mean any of the other band members are less important.”

“She said we were all vital to the band and Little Mix wouldn’t be whole without all of us in the group.”

“They are our inspiration as they were fresh and funky. They all had their own individual character and style, just like us.”

“I’m the scary one with a bit of bite and attitude. Jesy’s the sporty one, Perrie’s the crazy one and Jade is like baby as she is sweet and girly.”

As mentioned, Little Mix are now the favourites to win the show followed by Marcus Collins, Amelia Lily and Misha B.
