After being voted off the X Factor last night, Amelia Lily has spoken positively about her experience on the show.

The 17-year-old received the fewest public votes by the time the votes were frozen last night, meaning Little Mix and Marcus Collins will compete in the second part of the final.

Speaking after it was announced she would finish third, Amelia said: “Can I just say thank you to everyone who voted me back into the competition. My ambition was to get to the final and I did it.”

She then took to her Twitter page to say: “Woooo hope everyone enjoyed tonights show! I know I did! Performing with Kelly Rowland was the best moment of my life.”

As mentioned, the final will now be contested between Little Mix and Marcus.

After a packed show this evening – that will include performances from Coldplay and Westlife – one of these two will be crowned as the winner.

Little Mix have received a boost to their chances though with X Factor creator Simon Cowell backing them to win.

Speaking on the Xtra Factor after last night’s performances, Simon said: “Do you know what, it really made me miss being back in Britain.”

“It was absolutely amazing, one of the best finals I’ve ever seen and I wasn’t on it.”

“I thought all three contestants did really well, but I got to say Little Mix are a revelation and if a girl group was to win the show, it makes history and maybe something special is going to happen.”

“I’ve really enjoyed the show. It could have had a bit more controversy, but at the end of the day, it’s all about finding stars, and I think tomorrow night Marcus versus Little Mix is going to be sensational. I couldn’t call it.”
