Little Mix reflect on X Factor victory

It may not quite have sunk in yet, but Little Mix were in good spirits on Daybreak this morning as they discussed winning the X Factor.

The girl group defeated Marcus Collins to be crowned as the winner, becoming the first group to ever win the show.

Speaking on ITV One this morning, Little Mix member Jesy Nelson said: “It’s really strange, even just watching that back it feels really, really weird. I don’t think it’s ever going to sink in.”

“I just kept going ‘Marcus, Marcus’. You know when you just know in your head. And we were just preparing ourselves. Every week we prepared ourselves to go out.”

Leigh-Anne Pinnock added: “I think it just all happened so quick – like we performed and then all of a sudden it was the results, and we were just like, ‘”What is going on?'”

“But when he said Little Mix, it was ‘My gosh, this is just insane’. We are so happy.”

Jade Thirlwall then revealed: “It means everything. We’ve worked so hard to get here and we really want to help our families and make sure we’ve got a bit of money to support them.”

“And the music, that’s why we came, we just want to do well and want to have a good career in music.”

As for the runner-up, Marcus was positive about what the future holds as he reflecting on a life changing experience.

He said: “This whole experience has been out of this world, it’s been an amazing journey and I’m so proud of myself.”

“If I could emulate anybody’s career it would probably be Gary Barlow’s because he’s not put a foot wrong yet.”

“He’s an amazing musician, songwriter and performer and I love him dearly.”

“Not only is he my mentor he’s my friend as well, and I couldn’t do it without him. Gary’s taught me so much personal strength throughout this process, he’s an amazing person.”

    Cracking show with some superb performances. Little Mix certs to win though, although both finalists sang well.

    And lets not forget Coldplay! what a performance and a superb light show. Spectacular is not the word! Glad they came down and silenced their ‘sold out’ critics…
